Shirley Basin Pronghorn Hunting

Slightly bigger than last years!

Shirley Basin Pronghorn Hunting- September 25th, 2010

Headed up to Casper to do some speed goat hunting with my father-in-law this last weekend. He had one down before 8am. I caught mine sleeping while buzzing down a draw on my MTB. I let him get up though, before I blasted him. Spent the rest of the day trying to chase down a doe for my father-in-law's additional doe tag. Eventually, that evening, we did. Great day all in all- 3 dead goats, 25 - 30 miles (2 -3 hours) of riding the MTB- both hunting and hauling out dead goats and also a few good long hikes.

The Kona, BOB and the little buck.

Packed up and headed out.

Great fun!

Antelope huntin' is over now. Time for Elk! Stay tuned...

East Fork Antelope Hunting

September 18, 2010
Pronghorn down- white speck middle of frame, just left of where the rifle is pointing (click to enlarge and zoom in).

I put in and drew for a doe/fawn Antelope tag out by folks place. Thought it my be fun to chase some goats around out there. It was.

The kill shot.

My first shot was at about 200-300 yards and was a gut shot.

After I caught up with them again, my second shot, about 10 minutes later ended it.

Wyoming Safari!

Now the work- like a rabbit compared to an elk or buffalo. It went quick.

After I skinned her, quartered her and cut out the back straps and tenderloins, it was time to get the B.O.B. (my off road MTB trailer).

Loading the BOB (Ibex)

Room for a bigger one, or even a deer... good to know.

And we're off... back to the truck. Speck out the video to see how it worked:
