March Madness in the Winds: Day 1

Southern Wind River Powder
Christina Lake Area
March 9th, 2008

The intitial objective for the day was the mountain in the center with the open face and trees on each side. The higher peaks to right are Atlantic and West Atlantic peaks.

Chuck paves the way. We took a route out of Deer park that we hoped would get on the mountain we wanted. It would have, be it would have been a longer hike than we had hoped. We bailed. We hit the run below us and go tback on the sleds and headed up to Go-Lite Mountain near Christina Lake. One of our favorite powder patches.

Karla skis.

Not a bad little shot. Great snow!

Chuck breaks more trail up Go-Lite.

Looking out across Christina Lake and Atlantic Canyon.

Chuck makes the final approach to out first line on Go-Lite.

Karla goes for it!

Droppin' the Go-Lite notch.

Chuck surfs it up!

One of my lines. Stuck it too!

Karla loves her new Dynafit AT set up.

Does it get better?

A little.

Karla skis into the sunset.

Chuck on the horizon.

We finished the day with some classic hucks...

Chuck takes off.

Yeeehaa!

Karla launches.

Oh Yea!!!

Makes it look easy. Sticks it like a pro.

Tally pic of the week. Ha! Last weekend she helped with Llama duty.
