Splitboards Attack Go-Lite

Splitboards Attack Go-Lite!
Southern Windrivers, Shoshone NF

Going up.

Decided to hit Go-Lite again this Saturday. After about a foot of new snow over the week, it was looking a little more filled in. This time the weather was stellar, and I had some company.

Karla scores the first ride!

Chuck takes a run.

The snow was good, but not a fluffly as it had been last Sunday. Strange winds out of the north started blowing too, which began effect the snow a little.

Chuck rides by with Christina Lake in background.

Chuck perched on top of our second run of the day. You can see lines from the first way down below him.

Dropping down off the top of Go-Lite, through the notch.

Good stuff!

After few runs on Go-Lite we decide to work our way back to the sleds. We'd passed an awesome kicker on the way up. I usually am challenged enough riding my board, let alone flying it- but we couldn't resist. The powder in the trees was incredible and rock was made for it. We'd have neglected our duty as snowboarders to pass it up. Pretty soon we were perched in a perfect position above our 6 foot plus launch pad. Chuck volunteered to go first.

Chuck lines up for some air.

Chuck in flight!!!

He actually nailed the landing too! Awesome. Here was my first attempt...

I caught alot of air, my landing wasn't as pretty though. Ha!

But, "Damn! That was fun!" Better try it again!

My second launch was better.

Chuck went for distance for the grand finale.

A look back at the Southern Winds on the way home from another great day in th backcountry.
