Cony Mountain

Since the trail out of Sinks Canyon was good, we decided to take a stab at Cony Mountain. Figured it might be a little thin up there yet, but didn't know for sure. The trail in seemed good.

A view down Sawmill Creek along our way up to Cony.

A look into Silas Canyon.

The Mystery Meat Sandwich and Wishbone Couloirs. Skiied them both last year- in June and July. Hope they get fatter this year.

Chuck and Karla make their way up toward Cony.

The snow turned out to be very "not enough". Oh well. It was nice out. We were there, so we decided to go for a skin up to the summit of Cony Mountain (11,100 ft).

The first splitboard to summit Cony Mountain?

Chuck and Karla soak up the vistas on the summit of Cony Mountain.

Looking across Roaring Fork Mt, towards Lizard Head Peak, from the top of Cony Mountain.

A bowl that's on my list of things to do some day.

After some grubs and rest, it was time to drop. There was a line, it would be tight though.

I decided to break out the only professional sports wear I have for the occasion. Thought it might be appropriate.

The bear went over the mountain...

to slide down the other side?

Go Bears!

Nice!

A look back up the hill.

Karla grabs some turns.

Chuck scores a little too.

The pickins were slim and the Peak was bagged, so we decided to split, skin and head for home.

Chuck enjoys some toasty weather on the way out.

A look back at Cony Mountain, the peak of the day.
