Go Lite Mountain

Go-Lite Mountain Afternoon Run, February 5th, 2006

After dropping Deer Park Knob a couple of times, I zipped on into Christina Lake. The weather was going down a bit, so I decided on a smaller mountain. It has no name, but we camped at the base of it last year with our "Go-lite", so I'll call Go-lite Mountain. Ha! It's not huge, but it's gotta be one of my favorite places to go int the Christina Lake Basin area. It's always got great powder. It also has a variety of runs- 25 to 40 degrees.

This picture tells it all. Hard to beat a powder field like this! Woosh!

Better give some credit to the board.

Yummy!

After that run, it started snowing. I decided to make a drop from the top though. Too bad it started snowing. The views and pictures would have been much better. Oh well, can't have it all.

Here's a big line down from the top. The pic doesn't really do it service.

One can kinda see the line, if you click on the pic it's better.

About 2:00pm I decided I'd better drop down to the sled and head out, the weather was really starting to puke. This is a shot through the trees on the way down. Absolutely phenomenal powder. I skied this mountain three or four times last year. It had great powder every time.

Back at the Skidoo, loaded up and on my way out. Got back to the truck around 3pm and back to town by 4pm or so. It's nice not to have to put on so many highway miles for good turns. Kinda fun zippin around on the machines too.
