Excavating the Christina Lake Camp, January 29, 2006
Ever wonder how much it snows up around 10,000 ft. during the month of January?
Before....
After....
Anthoer view of "after"...
So much for making turning after I packed up camp. Took me 3 hours to dig it out. Great shoveling though!! Ha!
The tent on the stove survived. The poles were shot though.
Amazing enough, everything on the stove was just as Mandy and I hade left it, about a month ago.
The fabric's elasticity was really amazing- no tears anywhere.
After 3 hours, I finally had it packed up.
Crammed it in the sled and started my skin back to the sled. I was running out of daylight.
Great snow! I was way bummed I didn't end up with enough time to drop anything- excep tmy shovel. Oh well. Got the tent and stove out.
Loaded up and lookin' back. Whew- those mountains put on some wieght this month, can't wait to get back try some lines.
Got back out to the truck at the Louis Lake parking area around 6pm. Back to town by 7pm. Got quite a workout out of the deal. Think I learned, I don't wan to leave a camp for a month in January unattended again. Too much work digging it out!
