Fossil Hill/ Lookout Tower Hike

Day Hiking in the Winds
September 14th, 2008

Mandy and Seamus hop the fence for a jaunt around Fossil Hill.

Tally leads the way back!

After Fossil Butte, we went on up the road to Blue Ridge and a trail that goes up to an old forest service look-out station/ tower. Tally had a blast!

Storming the Castle!

Nearly on top.

We made it!

Ooooo!

The castle garrison.

Seamus enjoys the view.

A look out over the southern end of the winds.

Hi! So I am visiting from California next week (October 18th 2015) and would love to do this hike as well as a hike to the summit of Cony Mountain. 10 miles, 1700' gain RT I estimated. Doable this time of year? I have only a mini-van--could this clear Louis Lake road to that point? Any other advice or local hiking gems are appreciated!
